dawn's light
nibbles slightly on
the mountains to the west.
ravens waken from their reveries.

dark vales
garments paler don
obeying sun's request.
birds rehearse their vague itineries.

shadows
writhe, deposed - undone
their former reign and night
replaced, - they haste to hide beneath the trees.

i sit
a witness as the sun,
in forceful show of might,
disperses universe of night with ease.
