the spirits blythely danced upon the wind
their eyes like tiny flames, their bodies lace
they breathed in whispers soft against my skin
and bade me follow them to other place.

they urged me from my body 'til i rose
my spirit from my flesh had taken leave
then wisked me off to heaven i suppose
to show me things in which i don't believe

eternity or longer i so-journed
mongst gnomes and unicorns, a fellow sprite
and soared the sky with harpies as i learned
the tacit language spoke with colored light.

reluctantly returned as spirits must
who still to this world cleave, and forms of dust.
