we feel asleep in one another's arms
beneath the moon
as liquid silver drenched our flesh,
a mist, - the essence of our lust,
- arose to  kiss the dew!
time had become a fashioned thing
that we could set aside;
a wind-up toy upon the shelf,
as we explored the realms of elsewhere
once we'd been denied

in blissful, dreamless sleep adrift
the endless sea of night,
we left our masks and fantasies
behind - our bodies speaking tacit vows
that mind can't comprehend.
we had become an entity
that many long to see;
a legend or a work of art,
two lovers with one dream,- one heart,
a rare and beauteous beast!

we fell asleep a hundred years ago
or so it seemed
when i awoke the morning after,
you, still rapt in senseless dreams
and rose to kiss your
lotus blossom feet!
